Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
After 15 years in exile on a trumped up conviction, Sweeney Todd returns to the grit and grime of Victorian London, bent on reclaiming his life and exacting bloody retribution. With the help of his trusty razors and his plotting landlady and pie-shop owner, Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney tears through a corrupt society proving revenge is a dish best served piping hot. This Sondheim classic is to die for!
I have the pleasure of being a part of the Ensemble and understudying (my first time understudying!) Mrs. Lovett. Check out the rest of the uber-talented cast and creative team and hope to see you at the show!

NASSIM
From Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour (creator of the Off-Broadway smash hit White Rabbit, Red Rabbit) comes an audacious new theatrical experiment. Each night, a new, unrehearsed local performer joins the playwright on stage, while the script waits, unseen, in a sealed box... Touchingly autobiographical yet powerfully universal, NASSIM is a striking theatrical demonstration of how language can both divide and unite us.
I had the pleasure of appearing in NASSIM on April 25th, 2024. Without spoiling it for anyone who may see it or participate in a performance in the future, I will share that Nassim is a lovely human and brilliant creator, and the show itself is a touching work of art that I was thrilled to be a part of for an engaged and open audience. Definitely check it out if you get a chance!

PLAYWRIGHT CONVENING AT PROFILE THEATRE!
After many attempts to work with Profile Theatre (and the schedule stars simply not aligning,) I finally got the opportunity to participate in Profile's inaugural Playwright Convening! The reading took place at the Imago Theatre in Portland, OR on May 5th, 2023.
We read from Reggie Hoops, an original play written by Kristoffer Diaz, as part of a process led by the wonderful Obie Award-winning director Leah C. Gardiner. Over the course of a few short days, we dove into a story about one of the most promising executives in the NBA. Simultaneously, a second cast was working on our orange sky, an original work written by playwright christoper oscar peña. The cast of readers for Reggie Hoops was led by Andrea Vernae (Portland Center Stage's Gem of the Ocean and School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play), Francisco Garcia (Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles' Romeo and Juliet), Linda Hayden (Appropriate), James Victor Mack (Sweat), Blake Stone, and Ashley Song. |

It's sweet, comforting, and not at all demanding ... it's the theatrical equivalent of hot cocoa with whipped cream." - BroadwayWorld
